" Mahishasura Mardhini"
Another beautiful carving on the same rock. The Mahishasura the demon king is being killed by the Goddess Parvati. After the incident she was named as Mahishasura Mardini. The story was very beautifully carved by the Mahabalipuram sculptures. I was amazed.

One of the Carving on the rock by the legends in Mamallapuram. Formerly known as Mahabalipuram. A place some 70 Kms. from Chennai, the capital of Tamilnadu. The once capital of Pallavas the rulers of South India. Simple images taken from my Nokia n73 cell phone. If I had a better camera???? Iam not a proffessional but The carvings made me mad simply.. Is it not???
